For many men, one of the first places that gray hair can appear is around the temples. This may not concern you, but you may also feel uneasy about these hairs making you appear older than you are or than you feel. While you might want to think about getting your hair dyed, doing so can be a hassle and you may not favor the unnatural look that often accompanies dyed hair. A better solution for you may be to discuss a new haircut with your barber. Keeping the hair around your temples closely cut can make any gray less evident, giving you the youthful appearance that you desire. Here are some haircuts that may work for you.

Undercut

An undercut is a haircut in which your hair on the top of your head is longer, but the hair on the sides of your head is extremely short. In some variations, the hair on the sides of your hair may be virtually shaved. Many men favor this look, and it's a good one for eliminating any gray that may be making an appearance around your temples. Because this haircut is something that younger men often favor, you may find that it gives you a more youthful appearance beyond its benefit of eliminating the gray.

Buzz Cut

If you favor short hair on your entire head, a buzz cut might be something to consider. Different men like different lengths of buzz cuts, but the big benefit of this hairstyle to you is that the close shave you get along the sides of your hair will make any gray hairs less evident. A buzz cut has other benefits to consider, too. Namely, it doesn't require a lot of maintenance each morning and is quick to wash in the shower.

Fade/Taper Cut

The terms "fade" and "taper" typically describe a men's haircut that is cut tight to the sides of the head and is a little longer up top. Unlike an undercut, however, this is a haircut in which the hair on the top of your head is on the shorter side—albeit longer than a buzz cut. There are different degrees of this haircut. Some men have the sides of their head virtually shaved down to the skin, while others leave varying lengths of stubble. Either way, you'll likely be able to bid farewell to your gray with this cut.
